SUPERDAD'S DAY
Every year on Father's
Day, we recognize the men who, through their love, wisdom, and devotion, help
mold our character. Dads and father figures all around the country make
tremendous sacrifices to support their families and guarantee that their
children have happy lives. Dads all throughout the country are helping to
instill in their children a sense of good and wrong that will last their entire
lives. Fathers play a vital part in our lives, and this day serves as a
reminder to offer them compassion, love, and care. Fathers are frequently the
unsung heroes of our daily lives. We owe a debt of thanks and respect to these
amazing fathers.
Father's Day is a chance
for many of us to reflect on the fathers, stepfathers, father figures,
grandfathers, brothers, and children we have lost — but who will never be
forgotten. Too many of us know a father who has lost a kid or been lost too
young. The grief is intense, but we find comfort in knowing that our loved ones
will always be with us.
While the actual origin
is unknown, it is thought that the first-ever Father's Day celebration was
proposed in 1909 by a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, who believed that a
father's role in shaping a child's life and valuable contribution is often
forgotten. She chose to honor her own father, who was a quiet man by nature.
This day was only officially observed after the United States declared a
national Mother's Day. Nonetheless, most countries around the world have set
days to commemorate this occasion.
The inaugural Father's
Day was observed in the state of Washington on June 19, 1910. The day
celebrating fathers did not become a national holiday in the United States
until 1972, 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother's Day official.
The date for Father's Day in 2022 is Sunday, June 19. The campaign to honor the
nation's fathers was not as well received, perhaps because, as one florist put
it, "fathers don't have the same sentimental appeal as moms”.
No matter what the
characteristics a father have, fathers deserve to celebrate their day just like
how we celebrate Mother’s day. Father’s Day is the time where we appreciate and
honor the sacrifices that a father had given to his children. To all fathers,
daddy, papa, dad, grandfather, granddad around the world, I great you a Happy Father’s
Day. Thank you for your unending love and support to us, your family.
