The New Way of Learning

The Covid-19 pandemic caused governments to shut down some establishments and this includes schools. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, it is very risky to make teachers and students go to school to teach and learn. The educators applied Distance Learning where teachers and students wouldn’t having a class in a classroom instead, they use technologies such as the internet, social media, and so on.

The Distance, Blended, and Modular Learning method of education became the solution for the impact of pandemic to education in the Philippines. The mentioned methods of education have positive and negative impacts to student. The methods are developing students to be independent, where self-study is complied. It is less consuming in terms of time and money. I think it’s not that effective to gain knowledge since a lot of learners are only answering the requirements given by the teachers. As a student, I find the new normal way of learning difficult and tiresome. Imagine being frustrated because you can’t understand the lessons or spending so much time in your laptop to answer modules. Students aren’t the same, some can understand the modules by themselves some can’t; some could easily access to internet, some couldn’t. It is also common to students having distractions around them. We students are already struggling, how much more to our teachers?

As of this day, we are still hoping for us to have the Traditional Method of education which is the Face to Face Learning, but Covid-19 cases won’t stop spreading. All we can do right now is to wait, endure, and pray that this pandemic will be over. Let's unite to stop this Pandemic in order to achieve and experience again the old normal. Don't waste our time, days, months and years for waiting this virus to go away by itself. We must help each other to solve this problem, by following the protocols and joining the vaccination for 18 year and above of age. God will heal us soon, our land, our country.
