Youth fights Covid-19 pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has a wide range of effects on healthcare personnel, employees, the elderly, and, most importantly, us youth. It is projected to have the greatest impact on children in the world's poorest countries. The Department of Education (DepEd) commemorated National Children's Month with the theme "New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan," which aimed to address a wide range of issues related to children's rights to survival, development, protection, and participation in the new normal.
Because of the pandemic's long-term nature, it resulted in not only the risk of death from viral infection, but also psychological and emotional repercussions among youth. The new normal manner of teaching, in particular, is the principal cause of boredom, isolation, sleep deprivation, depression, and other mental health difficulties among youth. Children were hungry and malnourished as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In general, having the necessary support from authorities, guardians, and elders is the greatest method to safeguard children against the risk of a Covid-19 pandemic. DepEd's declaration of National Children's Month is an example of effective action that has addressed the harmful impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on youth. The activities held in honor of Children's Month also helped to develop the abilities and talents of youngsters, which could aid to alleviate boredom and loneliness among children.
The epidemic will not prevent us from achieving our goals in the future. Consider whether the circumstance we're in today is a stepping stone to achievement or a lesson we may apply to our lives. It may be tough and inconvenient, but we may grow accustomed to this so-called new normal. Let us not leave one another in this time of difficulty, we must be as one rather. Let us bring back the smiles we previously had.
